Episode 524 – The solar-powered and the guitarist

This week, Paul Sutton sent us links to 2 videos (video 1 | video 2) about the James Webb Space Telescope.

Then, the sad story of an 80 year old photographer from Paris.

For those with an interest in esoteric cameras, how about a game boy camera? From 1998 and a massive 128 x 112 Pixels. Forget that multiple megapixel nonsense. 14,336 total pixels in grey scale!

Then, the Ocean Art 2021 winners. Some great underwater photography here, as you would expect!

And a blog post from Joe Edelman on creating value in your photography, whether you’re paid for it or not.

Glynn found this video which shows colourised footage of the construction of the Empire State Building.

And for those who are still missing Picasa (an online photo editor), maybe give edit.photo a try.

And following on with our theme of the last couple of episodes of the oldest people ever photographed, comes this story about Jonathon.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.

I fondly remember Picassa. In fact it is still stored in my archive of old programs. One thing I loved about it is the fact you could duplicate all the Cokin filters with it. I have not seen another peice of software that copies Cokin so faithfully, and completely.

All the best to you all, and looking forward to the new theme music Glynn.
