Episode 439 – 8 out of 10 equals how much?

This week, NASA gives away their entire image library,
North Face engages in a shameful publicity stunt,
why you shouldn’t try and video Judas Priest from the mosh pit,
the Mine S modular controller,
and 22,000 historic photos from the Arabian (Persian?) area also now available free.

Adam alerted us to the fact that the Lit xenon smartphone flash kickstarter got pulled, even though they achieved 150% of their funding goal,
see what a sunset looks like from the ISS,
DxO ships the Nik Collection 2,
and then there’s this colour perception test. I realised after we recorded that I was actually NOT given of 89%, but rather an acknowledgement that I scored better than 89% of people who took the test. Slight difference! Oops.

Glynn came across Fatmap, which seems like a cool resource for working out how far you can travel on foot in a given timeframe… anywhere in the world! Seems like it could be quite handy for photographers planning photowalks.
And then there’s the issue of the U.S. now wanting to know all about your social media accounts before you can apply for a visa of any kind.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.
