Episode 421 – The Troy Kasper episode

This week, we’re dedicating the episode to Troy Kasper.
Bruce has been shooting like a total noobie.

Sony is allegedly working on a couple of new sensors, which promise amongst other things, 16 bit RAW capture! (Link 1 | Link 2}

This master of street photography knows how to capture the right moment.

Troy Kasper sent us this story about recreating the perfect Instagram photo in New Zealand.

Rob Coates and Adam both told us about the guy in Dubbo who is one of only 4 people in the country with the skills (and the will) to fix obscure old cameras.

Adam sent us the colour photography of Vivian Maier,

The story behind that Ikea photo of Amsterdam,

Harvard makes nanosurface that fixes chromatic aberration in lenses,

Making a splash in toy photography,

and the new preset converter that lets you use your lightroom presets in capture one.

Glynn was incredulous at the iJacket,

and gave us a couple of videos to watch. One on Henri Cartier-Bresson,
and one about public-park-photography-outrage.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.

    Thanks for the honour!

    To be honest i am only a short time listening. I came across you podcast when Joe Edelman said he was going to be on about a month ago. It’s nice to have an Aussie show.

    So the question is, how many of the 7 other listeners have had an episode named after them? 😀

    One, if I remember correctly… and I don’t even remember who that was! 🙂
