Episode 408 – Extended holidays
This week, rumour has it that a Nikon mirrorless camera body (or two) will be announced this coming week (w/c Monday 23rd July), and it/they will supposedly look something like this.
Last week, we talked about the Nikon P1000 and it’s crazy-huge built-in zoom lens. There are some more videos of it in action here.
Adam let us know that actor, Jeff Bridges has been honored for his photography at this year’s Infinity Awards.
Check out more of Jeff’s unique work at his own site.
And from the “Is this for real” Department… Nikon working on finger sensors that can read your emotions.
Glynn found these clever, no-Photoshop-required photography ideas,
a story of how AI could kill the photo comp,
some amazing images of volcanos and lightning,
news of the impending arrival of a full-blown Photoshop on your iPad,
and the Vaonis Stellina portable smart telescope.
Which reminded me of the story we talked about last year, when some photographers managed to capture the ISS transiting in front of the solar eclipse. There’s a video of that event, and how it came to be, on the Smarter Every Day youtube channel. Pretty impressive achievement.

Hey Bruce you nentioned listeners to let you know what we are shooting is that on the facebook page?
No, it’s more of a solicit for people to submit images they’ve shot. Flick ’em through via e-mail and we’ll feature them on the podcast and through the show notes.
Liking the non-busy webpage Bruce.
