Episode 406 – One of THOSE episodes
This week, Glynn is calling this “One of THOSE episodes”. I guess we shall have to wait and see!
500px has killed off marketplace and CC licensing,
The European Space Agency has released over 100,000 images from the Rosetta Image archive.
Rumours abound that Nikon is working on not one, but TWO mirrorless cameras.
They will feature a new mount, and you may remember that Nikon has recently filed a patent for “Z-mount.” In the patent, the external diameter of the mount is 49 mm, but Nikon Rumors reports that it might be 55 mm. Whichever turns out to be the case, the new mount will allow for f/0.95 lenses for which Nikon has recently filed a patent under “Noct” trademark.
If you like shooting with vintage lenses on your DSLR, Namethatlens is a cross-platform tool to inject exif data into those images.
You’ve all heard me prattling on about darktable over the last 2 years. I’ve decided it is time to start creating a youtube series of videos to help new users get up to speed.
My channel is here, and the playlist of just darktable videos is right here. Or you can click on the image above.
I aim to produce one video per week.
Rob Coates sent us this story about the NetGeo Travel Photographer of the Year winning image.
And it’s a corker!
Adam sent in this story about shooting defocussed fireworks,
and news that Patreon is suspending adult content creators because of its payment partners.
Glynn found this image of a newly-created planet,
a disturbing story about image theft on the web (Wha? That would NEVER happen!!), and the court deciding in favour of the accused, citing “fair use”,
this interesting approach to street photography, utilising ND filters,
this funky airbag for the your cell phone,
and he’s playing around this week with his new Cineroid lighting panels. I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about these in coming episodes!
