Episode 402 – Well, THAT was a barrel of laughs. Not.

This week’s episode title has nothing to do with the content of the podcast, but EVERYTHING to do with why this episode is a day late. Grrr.
Through the week, I came across Flopstarter on Facebook.
Good for a giggle. But where are the photography-related campaigns?
Rob Coates sent us this sad photo story from Western Australia.
Sometimes, the selfie isn’t worth the cost.
Carl sent us a link to this video about the Nikkor 180-400mm f4 with built in 1.4 teleconverter.
Adam sent us a heap of stories including this one about mosquitoes,
the tornado that formed in front of a timelapse photographer’s camera,
the mid-air eagle vs fox battle for a rabbit,
this story with crappy audio,
this hilarious-not-hilarious video piece featuring Emilia Clarke,
Phillip Bloom accuses google of using his stock footage without paying,
and the not-so-eloquent photographer who said no to Fox News… but they used his images anyway.
Glynn met a couple of photographers through the week who impressed him.
One was Josh Holko,
the other was Denis Smith.
He also came across the Lensflipper and was impressed got a case of G.A.S.
There was this story about how to improve your landscapes,
the ramifications of the GDPR,
and back in the year 2000, IBM released its 1GB MicroDrive for only USD$499,
and JPEG 2000 was touted as the great hope for the future of imagery on the web.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.
