Episode 322 – Looking for guests

This week,
Glynn suggests that Rob Coates should “stop reading the books”.
Rob also told us about the million dollar potato,
David Marland (and others) mentioned the story of Nikon retractsing the prize from a photographer who photoshopped (incompetently) his “award-winning” entry.
Said photographer also apologized, but we suspect only because he got caught.
Glynn found this blog post about the Rule of Thirds.
Glynn also came across a warm-and-fuzzy project called 1 camera 1000 smiles, which aims to distribute your old, unwanted-but-still-working camera equipment to underprivileged indigenous kids.
PhotoMate R3 (Android) has been updated with apparently better RAW conversion tricks up its sleeve.
Do you have the patienece to shoot and edit a one year hyperlapse? These guys did!
Or perhaps you’re up for a little pinhole bullet time project?
Or some Inception-inspired surreal UAV landscapes?
Lens compression done right!
Glynn found this comedy short filmed entirly with the reversing camera on a Toyota Prius!
Adam alerted us to the story of Seagate getting hit with a class-action lawsuit for unreliable backup drives.
And yes, we’re looking for some listeners who would be interested in guest-hosting whilst Glynn is away. Give us a yell if you’re interested.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.

Maybe you’re right, Glynn. I might stop reading photography books. I might even write one – ‘How to take good landscape shots: A guide for those who admit they can’t’.
