This week, some e-mail from Richard Annable and Carl Hemmings.
Richard’s first one was regarding sorting through a big shoot.
The guys at Magic Lantern have managed to pull RAW video straight out of a Canon 5Dmk3.
However, it turns out my comments on the podcast were not entirely accurate regarding resolution. They have been able to achieve 2880×1320 (2.5k resolution) pixels.

This week saw the release of Canon’s new EF 200–400mm f/4L IS 1.4X lens.
Richard Ingram chimed in on the issue of war/journalism photographers and where they draw the line between a) capturing the moment, and b) lending a hand.
For Nikon users, digicamcontrol have just released a smartphone app (in iOS and Android flavours) to allow remote shutter release of your Nikon DSLR from your phone.
Where Google used to offer you 10GB of storage for GMail and 5GB for Drive and G+ photos, they now offer a combined 15GB of storage for everything, so you can use the space however you like.
Glynn has been looking into the “orphan images” issues we discussed a couple of weeks ago. Turns out, Canada has been doing this since 1990.
The Big Photo Show in LA was held recently. A staggering 94% of registered attendees actually turned up!
