3 strikes…

What can I tell ya?
It’s just been a full-on week yet again, and I have not had a chance to record ANY of my podcasts.
Two things stood in my way this past week.
1. I was recording yet another title for Lynda.com in the evenings, and
2. A cousin of mine from Perth (Western Australia) whom I hadn’t seen for 2.5 years flew into town on business and stayed with us for 4 nights. It was great to see him again.
And podcasting came a very tragic 3rd in that race, I’m sorry!
Let’s put this in perspective, shall we?
You all know how much of a geek I am, right?
Well, get this…
Sitting behind me, on the floor of my studio/office, is a cardboard box.
In that cardboard box is sitting an Asus motherboard, an AMD Phenom quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and an Asus Lightscribe DVD writer.
Those components are waiting to become my next PC upgrade.
You know how long they’ve been sitting in that box on my floor?
TWO WEEKS!!
Two freakin’ weeks, people!
So, now you KNOW I’m not just yankin’ your chain about being busy.
If Bruce can’t find time to upgrade his PC, things must be outta control.
Believe me, I’m tryin’…

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.

I guess we will survive. PC upgrades really should take priority though. Your family will understand what is really important. =)

    first priority : geek credibility
    second priority : family
    third priority: everything else

I am sure that a three weeks delayed shutters inc will be even better for the extra time in the oven…..

3 strikes and definitely not out.

Bruce, I find such a wealth of information in your podcasts (especially sine language) that I don’t care how often they come out.

And if anyone’s really hanging out, just go back through the archives – this stuff doesn’t go out of date in a hurry – I guarantee there’s plenty of learning (and remembering) to be done even if you think you’ve heard them all.

Cheers Bruce and keep it up.

Can I just copy and paste what Felix said?

    I couldn’t agree more.
